Staff Attorney
Anne Meyer re-joined Project Guardianship as a Staff Attorney in September 2023. Anne previously worked with Project Guardianship and the former Vera Institute of Justice, Inc., Guardianship Project before that, from July 2016 through August 2021 as a Staff Attorney providing direct services to Project Guardianship’s clients. Anne then worked as a Contractor for Project Guardianship, preparing and reviewing court reports for the agency from December 2021 through August 2023.
Anne has been working in the area of Article 81 Guardianship for over ten years. As a student attorney within the CUNY School of Law Elder Law Clinic, Anne was introduced to Article 81 Guardianship and worked on her first Guardianship cases. She also authored a paper about Ableism and Article 81 Guardianship, the subject of an independent Law School study, later published in the NYSBA Elder Law and Special Needs Journal (Summer 2014). Anne is passionate about working toward enabling older adults and other persons needing assistance to lead safe and supported lives, acting as independently as they can in their best interest. Throughout her time as an attorney, Anne has brought guardianship petitions, drafted estate planning documents, and acted as attorney for the guardian, representing the agencies acting as guardian and the guardianship clients’ best interests in both the Supreme Court and the ancillary courts regarding various benefits and civil matters.
Anne holds a Juris Doctorate from CUNY School of Law, a Master’s Degree in English Literature from The College of Saint Rose, and a Bachelor’s in English Literature from SUNY Binghamton. She loves fantasy novels, enamel pin collecting, creating beautiful things, and all things Disney.
